October 9–10, 2026 | Downtown Bridgeville, Delaware
Bridgeville knows how to throw a fall festival. This Friday and Saturday, the 34th annual Apple-Scrapple Festival fills downtown with food, music, carnival rides, contests, and hundreds of crafters and vendors. The 2026 celebration comes with an extra milestone: hometown producer RAPA Scrapple is turning 100.
The festival began in 1992 when Bridgeville residents wanted to share what makes their town and western Sussex County special. Nearby orchards supplied the apples; RAPA, founded by Ralph and Paul Adams in Bridgeville in 1926, supplied the scrapple. Today, volunteers bring those traditions together with local makers, businesses, and community groups for a weekend that also raises funds for local causes. Read the festival’s history and RAPA’s centennial story.
If you go, come hungry. The festival food court features apple dumplings, scrapple sandwiches, pies, barbecue, funnel cakes, and more. RAPA is also hosting a ticketed Scrapple Centennial Serving on Saturday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at its Cannon Street gate entrance. Its chef-inspired menu includes scrapple smash burgers, tacos, breakfast bake, and cinnamon buns. See the centennial serving and ticket information.
The festival opens Friday at 4 p.m. with the food court, carnival, and bandstand. The evening includes the opening ceremony, Little Miss Apple Scrapple Pageant, Kids Apple Toss, and an 8:30 p.m. street dance featuring Free State Country Band. The full festival opens Saturday at 9 a.m., bringing crafters and vendors into the mix. Look for the car show, Kids Zone, Bridgeville Historical Society Museum, live music, the 1 p.m. ladies’ skillet toss, and the 2 p.m. invitational scrapple sling. Browse the full schedule.
The forecast as of October 5 calls for sunshine and pleasant temperatures on both festival days. If you’re driving in on Saturday, organizers recommend 7350 Federalsburg Road as a GPS reference for the Red Lot; follow festival signs and traffic personnel as you approach town. A free shuttle runs Saturday only, and pets are not permitted in the festival area. Check the parking details and latest schedule before you leave.
A century of RAPA is a remarkable reason to gather. The weekend is also a chance to enjoy the people and traditions that have kept Bridgeville’s festival going for 34 years.
